About

Years ago, when I worked at an internet service provider, I had several people who escalated tickets to me. There was one particular incident, where a customer’s email account had been clogged up with too many attachments and we needed to flush it out.

Sometimes, we’d download the attachments and put them into a folder where the customer could download them, but in this particular case, we were frustrated about the fact that this guy was a repeat offender. I told the tech support person (his name was Scott) to just delete all of the emails with attachments from the customers email queue.

Scott then said to me, “Dave, you are truly the evil overlord of technical support”. Of course me, doing pretty much anything for a laugh, registered the domain “Evillord.org” and created an email address for Scott, “davesminion@evillord.org”

I’ve kept the domain, and it’s served as my personal blog and website for many years since. Of course, it’s difficult to explain to religious people exactly why I’m “evillord.org”
